Tiger Helicide is a noisy punk band founded in 2009 by Adam Harmless in Gadsden, AL. The band has seen many different lineups over its first ten years, but has remained consistent in releasing music. The band released its first album in 2012, 'Fight For Your Riot', the brain child of original members, Adam Harmless and KC Dilla. Most of this material was performed live by Adam, KC, Jacob Ragan, and Kenneth Holley over the following three years. A few singles and a self titled EP later, a vastly different lineup (Adam Harmless, Andy Smith, and Jacob Ragan) released the group's second, more experimental album, Saturday Night Mind Control, in 2016. The band added Matthew Harris on bass shortly after and released the 'Zodiac Killer EP' in 2018. 2018 also saw the addition of Jay Dubya Hyde on guitar and the release of the band's closest thing to a hit 'Punk Rock Fanzine'. Jesse Forever joined the band in 2019 on guitar, keys while they are currently working on their third album.
The current lineup consists of Adam Harmless, Jacob Ragan, Matthew Harris, Jay Dubya Hyde, and Jesse Forever.
THE SEBASTIAN TRIALS
The Sebastian Trials aka BARTHOLOMEW SEBASTIAN aka JACOB RAGAN is the drummer for Tiger Helicide as well as a lot of other bands in the Gadsden, AL area, including Russian Love Machine and False Suns. Jacob pretty much does everything in The Sebastian Trials and it sounds really great! He released his first track "So Predictable" in 2017, which featured frequent collaborator Brad White (who also recorded the song) on guitar. This hardcore punk solo project is currently recording new material due to release soon!
THE OLD WORLD UNDERGROUND
The Old World Underground is a proto-punk band formed in 2018 in Northeast Alabama.
After moving away from home and off to college, vocalist/guitarist Jesse Norris started the project to fill his time in a city where he knew no one. After writing a few experimental tunes varying in style, he met lead guitarist Clay Scarborough in a park outside the university who added a more human element to the songs that would be released as "Tracks From The Underground Vol. 1" a week and a half later on Halloween. On a weekend trip back to Jesse's hometown of Gadsden, Alabama, Clay was introduced to Nick Adrian, a frequent filmmaking collaborator that Jesse had met earlier that year. In order to fill out the sound live for a show scheduled for December 2018, Nick was added as the bassist. The live lineup was to consist of Jesse on guitar/vocals, Nick on bass, and Clay on drums. Because Clay had severe medical issues the week of the show, Nick moved to drums, and Jesse recruited high school friend Eli Amberson on bass. Because the band relied very heavily on the skills of Clay to play the already written material, the first show's setlist consisted of two 3 day old songs, only one song from the band's debut EP, a Kanye West cover, and a revamped version of a song from Jesse's middle school band, TV Attackers. After playing two shows without Clay, the band found it's sound when he rejoined in January of 2019. The four released a compilation of demoes in April and added Annabelle Blood as another vocalist and Damon Shropshire as a song writer/live guitarist in May. The band released their debut EP 'Apologue' in September of 2019 and are currently working on their first studio album which is set to be released in January of 2020.
The current lineup consists of Nick Adrian, Jesse Norris, Eli Amberson, and Annabelle Blood, Damon Shropshire and Clay Scarborough.
Though the name might convince you otherwise, The Outliars is a one man experimental/shoe gazey band from Collinsville album formed from the mastermind Eric Sanango. His debut EP is set to be released later this year.
